Amos: Warning Signs

Amos was not a book I knew very well. 2 months ago, I probably couldn't have told you much about it at all, if anything.

But that changed.

Last night at St Peter's East Lindfield, I gave a talk on Amos at the youth Group there, SN@P.

In a segment at SN@P where I was interviewed so the kids could "get to know me", I was asked "What is something you have learned from writing these talks on Amos".

I answered "That we have been given a warning sign from God, and that is amazing. We shouldn't ignore it, but we need to listen to it, and obey it".

Although this answer is "correct", I want to change it.

On reflection, my answer now would be "That I need to read my OT more than I do".

The OT is so rich in goodness, and I often overlook books like Amos. I was lucky enough to be given the chance to speak on it, and it has reinstated my desire to read the OT more often.
